Engaging minds and conversation...
...we learn and discuss, experiment and encounter. For an entire month,Lakeeren Gallery in Mumbai ceased to be an art gallery, and instead became a Research Pod, a space for study and knowledge exchange; while in Chicago, new media website became a physical manifestation, an experiment "in real life." Exhibitions can be spaces of learning -- like discovering the historical context of Edouard Vuillard and the avant-garde -- or pure experience -- a summer show at September in Berlin creates a conversational space, a leisurely framework of interpretation -- or perhaps both -- the Gerhard Richter retrospective provides both education and aesthetic experience. Mónica Félix's work questions personal histories, archetypes, and memories; while Paul Cowan's work questions the apprehension of the art object itself and calls for something other than quick judgment.
Bradley Rubenstein interviews Pedro Barbeito about violence, paint, digital imaging, and zombies.
New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris--the art world is buzzing for the fall season. Our Fall Previews Special Edition is coming out next week!
