NEW: Products of Design in France: SVA @ Boisbuchet Instructors: Allan Chochinov, Emily Baltz July 10 – 16 Through a multi-disciplinary approach, participants will investigate the blurring boundaries and explosive range of new practitioners in the rapidly changing world of product design. Inspiration From the Past – Interior Design Solutions for the Future: Florence and Venice Instructors: Elisabeth Martin, Stuart Mager May 16 – 31 Discover how Italy's architectural marvels influence contemporary design. Participants will sketch and analyze historic sites to uncover the vital elements that inspire today's designers. The Artist's Journal: From Istanbul to Florence Instructor: Peter Hristoff May 24 – June 10 Unleash your creativity through a daily practice of observation and drawing. The journey begins in Istanbul and traces the migration of scholars to Florence and their impact on the Renaissance. Masters Workshop: Design History, Theory & Practice in Venice & Rome Instructors: Steven Heller, Lita Talarico, Louise Fili June 5 – June 19 In this workshop taught by leading Italian and American designers, participants will analyze the roots of typography while exploring the ancient ruins and monuments that gave birth to Western type. Digital Photography in Shanghai Instructor: Abby Robinson June 4 – July 2 Shanghai is rich with photographic possibilities. Participants will engage with the Shanghai art community while savoring the city's colors and interweaving of Western ideas with Eastern traditions. Discover the Light of Provence: Digital Photography in Southern France Instructor: Jean-Marc Veillon June 24 – July 7 Provence has been an inspiring destination for centuries. With the goal of creating a new body of work, participants will unlock their inner passion as they discover the beauty of southern France. Lighting For Portrait and Fashion Photography in Barcelona Instructor: Janusz Kawa July 9 – 17 With its exquisite light and Mediterranean locale, Barcelona is a fashion editor's dream. In both studio and outdoor classes, participants will learn to react quickly to ever-changing lighting situations, while discovering the best tools for shooting portraits.
