Seon Ghi Bahk, focusing on perceptive ability which results in different conclusions depending on spectator's perspective and surrounding environment, adopts the relationship between existence and its essence as the principal motif in his oeuvre. The artist conceives the inherent property of medium as the foundation of creation, he combines small pieces of charcoal or acryl and crystal beads to sculpt the structure, and by hanging them, endeavors the absolute balance between the works, space and the audience.
Through Reflection- 色卽是空, the artist talks about the essence of existence within shape and image. Occupying the full space, human thought is realized only through tangible frames yet is unseen. Its essentials are boundless, never stagnant and undefiled. This exhibition follows the general configurations of his oeuvres yet is composed with the works which reflect the artist's ponder upon understanding of exhibition space and new materials.
