EXIT FRAME

Exit Frame: This experimental video deals with the psychic subjectivities of anxiety, desire, passion, compulsion and the inevitable decision of the subject to renege one identity for another. The political connotations of this gesture is suggested in the video. The subject paces back and forth; the mood is ominous. He then charts a progression with his luggage (symbolic of dislocation or migration) through the corridor toward a door. The anxiety can be read in the call from behind the door to "A New African" - a new identity, a new personage whose being was formed of conviction and is implicitly of value.
