KEN PRICE SCULPTURE: A RETROSPECTIVE
OPENS SEPTEMBER 16
Ken Price redefined contemporary sculpture for more than fifty years with a practice that was uniquely positioned somewhere between sculpture and painting. The first retrospective of Price’s work in nearly twenty-five years, Ken Price Sculpture: A Retrospective presents one hundred objects that chart the artist’s career up until his passing in February 2012.

ED RUSCHA: STANDARD
OPENS SEPTEMBER 22
Recognized as one of the most important artists of our time, Ed Ruscha depicts everyday objects—gas stations, street signs, billboards, commercial packaging—and explores the relationship among words, things, and ideas. This exhibition showcases ninety-eight works by Ruscha, mostly culled from LACMA’s collection.

MASTERWORKS OF EXPRESSIONIST CINEMA
OPENS SEPTEMBER 22
Expressionist cinema of the 1920s made a lasting impact on visual culture, giving rise to such popular genres as film noir, horror, and science fiction. This exhibition highlights the broader expressionist movement through projected sequences, vintage posters, and set stills from Dr. Caligari (1920) and Metropolis (1927), as well as selected prints from the Robert Gore Rifkind Collection.
