(Kent McInnis, Icarus Series - 1, July 2009, ArtSlant Showcase Juried Winner in photography.)
Art has its own laws of physics...
...from the energy between viewer and artwork to the movements and migrations of artists. Johan Gelper's sculptures inspire motion in the viewer, like kinetic-art-in-reverse, while Matt Connors' paintings appear to defy gravity. Émilie Pitoiset choreographs her installations as one would a ballet, and Loris Gréaud creates an otherworldly environment of sound and space. One can trace Roy Lichtenstein's development to a few flashes of light, while the photographs of Herb Ritts seem eternal and timeless. Shivaraju B S takes performance to the streets for an iconic photo series, and a generation of "post-studio" artists become wanderers and nomads.
