Hannah Starkey's photographs reconstruct scenes from everyday life with the concentrated stylisation of film. Starkey's images picture women engaged in regular routines such as loitering in the street, sitting in cafes, or passively shopping.

Characteristic of Starkey’s photographs this self-portrait conveys one of those in-between moments captured in a reflection that is at once prosaic and visually captivating.

“A product of the Pacific Northwest in the ‘90s, I’ve never exactly been striving for some heroic sublime – my work’s more a DIY thing”, says Jennifer West of her work vibrant, brightly coloured semi-abstract work.

Jennifer West has selected 3 film stills from her work Dawn Surf Jellybowl and reproduced them as limited edition photographic prints. The titles of these editions reveal all of the products and processes used to create West’s effects on the celluloid film including exposure to zinc oxide and applications of sex wax and smeared donuts.

Berndnaut Smilde: Nimbus

Dutch artist Berndnaut Smilde merges art and science to create small man-made clouds that exist, albeit for just a moment, indoors.

Smilde uses a fog machine to make the actual clouds, but also carefully regulates the humidity light and temperature. Even so, these installations exist for a mere moment before dissipating inside the room. Smilde has selected a photograph of one of these ephemeral moments for this edition.

An edition of 100, signed and numbered by the artist.
