Curating Change: Tiffany Shlain on Connectedness

Explore our latest Curating Change installation, featuring Tiffany Shlain on Connectedness The International Museum of Women is thrilled to present our latest Curating Change guest curator, filmmakerTiffany Shlain with her selections On Connectedness. Tiffany Shlain is a filmmaker and founder of the Webby Awards, and was honored by Newsweek as one of the “Women Shaping the 21st Century.”  Tiffany’s latest award-winning feature documentary, “Connected: An Autoblogography about Love, Death & Technology,” is currently opening in theaters across the United States. “It is time that we lose our singularity and connect our thoughts and ideas to improve lives,” says Tiffany in her Curator’s Statement. “Working together has the potential to create a ripple effect, and spark a global call to action…The selections from the IMOW archives I chose show how living in and looking at the world interdependently can not only improve the world, but also improve our individual lives.” Tiffany’s selections include the beautiful photo series from Kenya, “Capitol of Hope”; the essay “Digital Livelihoods for the World’s Women,” about the value of dignified work for women worldwide; and “Singing for Change,” about women in Algeria who made a difference in their society through creativity… plus many other amazing pieces from IMOW’s exhibition archives!
