![]() ![]() Iyeoka will perform at Celebrating Change | The International Museum of Women’s most important fundraiser of the year is just around the corner. Please join us on March 10 as we celebrate the Centennial of International Women's Day and honor the Museum's Founding Board Chair Elizabeth Colton. Celebrating Change will feature wine, fine cuisine, art installations, and a special performance by Nigerian American Award-Winning Poet and Recording Artist Iyeoka Ivie Okoawo. Iyeoka is a 2010 TED Global Fellow and the 2nd place 2009 Individual World Poetry Slam Champion. This year we are also featuring Celebrating Change: Art Live Lounge, an exciting cocktail reception with tickets now available online for $85. Celebrating Change: Art Live Lounge will feature music, cocktails, dessert, and live art installations. Celebrate Focusing on Latin America in Costa Rica & ArgentinaJoin IMOW’s co-Curators for Special Exhibition Celebrations | ||
| Join IMOW in Buenos Aires, Argentina and San Jose, Costa Rica on March 17 & 18 for our international exhibition celebrations for Focusing on Latin America! Costa Rica Event Details: March 17, Sede del Museo de las Mujeres, Centro de cultura de Grecia, Alajuel, San Jose. 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. The reception will feature a panel discussion about women and the global economy. The panel will include Costa Rican artists who are a part of the Focusing on Latin America exhibition as well as local experts: María Florez Estrada, Marisol Patiño, Susana Sánchez Carballo, Roxana Nagygeller, Lucía Madriz and Vanessa Biasetti. Refreshments will be served. Argentina Event Details: March 18, Museo de la Mujer-Pje, Rivarola 175, Ciudad de Buenos Aires. 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The reception will feature a behind-the-scenes multimedia preview of Focusing on Latin America and a Q&A with the Argentine artists who are represented in the exhibition, such as Diana Dowek, Gabriela Horvat, Perla Bajder, and Marga Steinwasser. Refreshments will be served. (A final exhibition celebration in Mexico City, Mexico will also be held. ![]() | Please welcome our two newest contributors to Her Blueprint, Ruby Singhrao and Jessica Dargiel! Ruby Singhrao was born in England to Kenyan parents and grew up in Windsor, England. She received a degree in Biochemisty from the University of London and has worked in numerous hospitals and public health institutions, where she has taken an active role on issues relating to women’s health. Ruby will contribute articles to Her Blueprint that relate to her experience as a woman of color, a child of immigrant parents, and a women’s public health advocate. She is currently living in San Francisco and pursuing a career in medicine with a focus on women's health. Jessica Dargiel earned a MA in Conflict, Security, and Development Studies from King’s College London and a BA in both Political Science and Economics from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. She currently works in the publishing industry, focusing on international business growth and development. She will contribute posts that highlight women activists internationally, as well as posts on arts and culture. Check out her latest post, which revisits “Half the Sky” two years after publication.
